How OneVerse works
OneVerse pauses the apps you choose behind a Bible verse. When you open a paused app, a shield appears. To get through, open OneVerse and read today's verse — that unlocks the app for 15 minutes. Then it quietly locks again. Blocking is powered by Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) and works only on a real device.
Frequently asked questions
How do I choose which apps to pause?
During onboarding, or later in the You tab, tap to set up blocking. OneVerse uses Apple's Screen Time picker, which lists the apps installed on your device. Grant the Screen Time permission when prompted (it may ask for Face ID or your passcode).
I tapped “Give God this minute” but nothing happened.
Tapping that button sends a notification, “Your verse is ready.” Tap it to open OneVerse and read your verse. If notifications are off, just open OneVerse yourself and read today's verse — that still unlocks the app. To turn notifications on: iPhone Settings → OneVerse → Notifications.
My app didn't unlock after I read the verse.
Make sure you finished the short pause and tapped “I've read this.” The app then unlocks for about 15 minutes. If it still seems stuck, fully close OneVerse and reopen it, then try the app again.
How do I turn strict mode on or off?
Strict mode is on by default — it removes the “Open anyway” shortcut so the verse is the only way through. To turn it off, open the You tab, find Strict mode is on, tap Turn off strict mode, and confirm. You can turn it back on there anytime.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open OneVerse → the You tab → Restore purchase. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID and re-unlock on any device signed in with that ID.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple: iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → OneVerse. The 7-day free trial can be cancelled anytime before it ends and you won't be charged.
Will I lose my progress on a new phone?
No. If iCloud is enabled, your reading progress, streaks, and saved verses sync privately through your own iCloud and restore when you sign in and reinstall.
Is my data private?
Yes — completely. OneVerse has no account, no tracking, and no server. See our Privacy Policy.
